Influence of Different Conditioning Protocols on Bond Strength to Glass Ceramic

چکیده
Sixteen glass ceramic blocks (IPS e.max CAD/CAM) were fabricated by a CAD/CAM machine withdimensions (6mm × 11mm x 13mm) and divided into 4 groups (n=4), according to surface treatments: (G1)Hydrofluoric acid (HF) etching silane application, (G2) Acidulated phosphate fluoride (APF) silaneapplication, (G3) Monobond Etch Prime (MEP), (G4) Tetrabutylammonium dihydrogen trifluoride (TDTF) andsilane application.Composite resin (Te econome) cemented the treated blocksusing adhesive cement. All bonded specimens kept in water bath for three months went through 5000thermal cycles. The bilayered sectioned micro-bars (1 mm* 1 mm cross-section) using adiamond-coated disc under cooling cutting machine. Microtensile bond strength (μTBS) test wasperformed. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was used specimens’ examination.

Influence of various surface-conditioning methods on the bond strength of metal brackets to ceramic surfaces.
With the increase in adult orthodontic treatment comes the need to find a reliable method for bonding orthodontic brackets onto metal or ceramic crowns and fixed partial dentures. In this study, shear bond strength and surface roughness tests were used to examine the effect of 4 different surface conditioning methods: fine diamond bur, sandblasting, 5% hydrofluoric acid, and silica coating for ...
متن کاملDurability of the resin bond strength to zirconia ceramic after using different surface conditioning methods.
OBJECTIVES The purpose of this in vitro study was the evaluation of the bond strength and its durability of two composite resins to zirconia ceramic after using different surface conditioning methods. METHODS Plexiglas tubes filled with composite resin were bonded to zirconia ceramic discs (Cercon) which were either in their original state as supplied by the manufacturer only cleaned in isopr...
متن کاملInfluence of thermal and mechanical fatigue on the shear bond strength of different all-ceramic systems
BACKGROUND To evaluate the influence of thermal and mechanical fatigue on the shear bond strength of different all-ceramic cores and veneering porcelain interfaces. MATERIAL AND METHODS All-ceramic systems tested were lithium disilicate and zirconia veneered by layering technique. Sixty specimens (n=20) were subjected to shear bond strength. Ten of them were thermal and mechanical cycled. Fra...
متن کاملEffects of surface-conditioning methods on shear bond strength of brackets bonded to different all-ceramic materials.
The aims of this study were to investigate the effects of two surface-conditioning methods on the shear bond strength (SBS) of metal brackets bonded to three different all-ceramic materials, and to evaluate the mode of failure after debonding. Twenty feldspathic, 20 fluoro-apatite, and 20 leucite-reinforced ceramic specimens were examined following two surface-conditioning methods: air-particle...
متن کاملEffects of surface conditioning on bond strength of metal brackets to all-ceramic surfaces.
The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of bonding brackets to ceramic restorations. Sixty feldspathic and 60 lithium disilicate ceramic specimens were randomly divided into six groups. Shear bond strength (SBS) and bond failure types were examined with six surface-conditioning methods: silane application to glazed surface, air particle abrasion (APA) with 25- and 50-microm alu...
